It was so cold outside that I put on my 'extra sexy' pair of pink polar fleece pajamas with the cutesy bunny pattern (I know how to bring sexy all the way back!), I pulled out my favorite blanket, a book, and decided to forgo the usual evening milonga for a quiet, warm, comfortable night at home. Just me, a cup of tea, a good book, and my dog.....
Then my mobile phone buzzed and I saw I had a message.
Mr. Wow sent me an email to let me know he was going out to a milonga.
My milonga
The milonga I had planned on skipping...
::OMG!!::
You don't understand.
Mr. Wow is simply that - - WOW!! A wonderful salon lead, gracious, kind, and a wonderful dancer. His musicality is spot on - - simultaneously sexy & playful. I adore dancing with him (and a lot of tangueras wait patiently for him to ask them to dance). And now he's going to be at a milonga that I wasn't planning on going to and I'm at home looking like a old maid train wreck in polar fleece bunny print pjs...
I looked at the clock and realized I had 17 minutes to change, find something to wear to the milonga, pack my shoes, run to the car, and drive to the train station..
I made it with three minutes to spare.
When I arrived at the milonga I changed into my outfit and fixed my makeup. Then I saw him standing and watching the floor.....
::sigh happiness::
After we exchanged greetings he asked me to dance and about a hour and a half later I thanked him for the amazing dances but I had to stop because I needed to catch the train back home.
That was a classic example of a tango bootie call*.
Pantina Tango Terminology:
Tango Bootie Call - When a tanguera receives a call from a tanguero in the late hours of the evening informing her that he will be at a particular location and she drops EVERYTHING to meet said tanguero at a milonga in the hopes of dancing with them.
As I ran from the milonga to catch the last train to the suburbs I thought to myself, "I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow.".
And I couldn't stop smiling because I really didn't care.
He was worth it!
Ciao,
Pantina

<3 Love it
I can so relate to that! How about learning after a milonga that you did not attend that Mr. Wow was there and due to poor attendance, he was sitting for half the night??? I just spent a whole weekend regretting it openly in front of my husband!!!
